Description:

In this Missions Sunday meditation we will explore the rationale for our Missions outreach, and discover that our model of Missions is closely fashioned after the ministry of Jesus Himself. After hearing the testimonies of the team members who just returned from our third trip to Pippa Passes, KY, we will tie Jesus' ministry together with our own. We will see that Jesus had a two-sided ministry: He proclaimed the Good News of the Kingdom (the Gospel) and ministered to the human suffering of the people around Him. But our primary concern in this message will be the way He ministered-- with Compassion. Therefore, as Jesus was the first and exemplary Apostler (sent-One), we also are called to be compassionate apostlers, passionately spreading the Gospel and compassionately alleviating human suffering in the name of and for the glory of Christ.
