Description:

In our last lesson, Daniel was visited by a celestial messenger who brought news of a vision of the future. In this lesson we will study part of that vision, from the time of Cyrus of Persia to the rise of Antiochus Epiphanes of Greece. The first thing we will notice about this vision is that it reads like a detailed history. But history that was prophesied hundreds of years before it happened! The 11th chapter of Daniel is unparalleled in Scripture or any other ancient text as a detailed prophecy that is clearly verified by history. But ultimately, we will notice God's mighty hand in the machinations of men, and understand why the angels of Persia and Greece were so interested in keeping the heavenly visitor from revealing this information to Daniel. For God is making it clear that only He is the One who changes the times and the seasons.
