a. Because he is not ashamed of the gospel (v16a)
3. Why Paul is not ashamed of the gospel?
a. Because the gospel contains, or mediates, God’s saving power (v16b)
b. And God’s saving power is for everyone who believes (v16c)
c. And he means everyone, Jews first and then non-Jews (v16d)
4. Why the gospel brings salvation?
a. Because the gospel manifests God’s righteousness (v17a)
b. A righteousness based on faith, connected to faith (v17b)
c. This connection between righteousness and faith is confirmed by scripture (v17c)
