Description:

Along with Christmas, Thanksgiving in America has become a holiday that far too many people have "secularized"-- thereby completely stripping God from their observance. Although many families continue to celebrate this tradition, started in the infancy of our country by the Puritans, any mention of or thankfulness to God has been excoriated. For reasons we will discuss, things were much the same way in Isaiah's day with the observance of the Feast of Booths. After drawing a comparison between the two, we will explore a possible solution. If every family that gathers together at their Thanksgiving tables were to consider Isaiah's amazing vision of the glory and majesty of God, and the unquestioned obedience and worship of the mighty Seraphim who surround His throne; perhaps we would wake up to the awesome power and holiness of God and give Him the reverence He deserves when we gather to give thanks. But even if we cannot change the perspective of the culture, hopefully Isaiah's vision will help you and your family enjoy a truly Isaian Thanksgiving.
